Corporate Director Onboarding

Serving on a corporate board is a major professional accomplishment requiring a significant commitment. There is a steep learning curve, particularly for those who are not industry insiders, given the tremendous amount of information about which you need to become deeply knowledgeable. Plus, new directors face the added challenge of ensuring they provide the right level of oversight without crossing the line into management responsibilities.

As a director, it’s important to acclimate quickly and therefore you should be prepared to take charge of your own onboarding — working with the board leader(s) responsible for overseeing the onboarding program — to make sure it is tailored and focused to your needs.
